Extracting insight from an organisation’s data is nothing new – it’s long been seen as important in supporting forecasting and business planning. But data analytics has now become a top priority issue, seen as critical to unlocking future growth, managing cost and decreasing risk.
Data analytics analysis large amounts of data to uncover hidden patterns, unknown correlations, market trends, customer preferences and other useful business information. The findings can lead to more effective marketing, new revenue opportunities, better customer service, improved operational efficiency, competitive advantages over rival organizations and other business benefits.
Businesses have huge amounts of data available to them within their IT, business and operational systems. However, making sense of this data in terms of operational, credit or other risk management reporting functions, is often a challenge for them.
講者簡介 (英文版本)：
Davis Cho is a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Assurance practice and his clients are engaged in real estate, hotel, retail and consumer, transportation and logistics, engineering and private equity funds industry, mainly in Hong Kong and China region.
Davis has over 19 years of audit and risk assurance experience and has been involved in a number of special transactions undertaken in Hong Kong and the Mainland China, including initial public offerings (including pre-IPO financing arrangement), group restructurings, financial due diligence and internal control works.
Davis has a large portfolio of assurance clients in Hong Kong, including, Kerry Properties Limited, Kerry Logistics Network Limited, K.Wah International Holdings Limited, Chevalier International Holdings Limited, Chuang’s Consortium International Limited.
Davis is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Davis graduated from McGill University in Canada. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Hong Kong.
Kristine Chung is a Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers Risk Assurance practice with extensive experience in data analytics, business controls advisory and regulatory risk assessment services for multinational and local clients to enhance their management reporting, business process, internal controls and operational efficiencies. She helped clients to establish data governance framework, setting up routines and data analytics criteria to standardize data analysis on an on-going basis with large volume of data.
Kristine also worked with management to develop different business process analytics in potential fraud identification, provide management insights and process improvement opportunities. In addition, she work with a number of internal audit departments to use/embed data analytics technics in the audit life cycle.
