In 2019, certain standards/consultations/papers were introduced affecting the way of work of CPA firms including the anti-money laundering, regulatory regime for Accountants/PAIBs, tax compliance, consultation on Quality Management for Firms and Engagements and discussion paper on "Audits of Less Complex Entities", etc.

The Financial Reporting Standards Committee of the HKICPA requested for comments on various issues including application of “Small and Medium-sized Entity Financial Reporting Framework and Financial Reporting Standard”. New regulations which apply to the agents of property management business were also discussed.
In view of the recent changes referred to above, the speaker will give his insights over those issues in practical perspective and share with audience on how to properly deal with the new challenges.
 
Speaker’s Bio
 
Being the proprietor and founder of Webster Ng & Co., Mr. Ng is a fellow Certified Public Accountant (Practising).  He is currently the Vice-President of the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK) and President of Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians Limited (HKIAAT), as well as the Council Member of The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors (SCAA) and Director of Accounting Development Foundation (ADF).  Mr. Ng is member of Taxation Policy Committee of TIHK and has been awarded as Honorary Council member of the China Certified Tax Agents Association (CCTAA).
 
Mr. Ng served in various accountancy sectors including committee member of Examinations and Accreditation Committee of HKIAAT, CPA Qualifying Process Reform Working Group, Accountancy Manpower Research Advisory Panel, Small and Medium Practitioners Committee and Practice Review Committee of HKICPA, as well as SME committee member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Finance, Audit and Risk committee member of Medecins Sans Frontieres Hong Kong.  In addition, Mr. Ng also served as member of Lotteries Fund Advisory Committee and ICAC CACCR Non-official Member.  He was commended as Distinguished Service for Community Building Awardee in 2018.
 
Mr. Ng holds the fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK).  He is also the ordinary member of The Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors (SCAA) and The Association of Hong Kong Professionals.  In addition, Mr. Ng is the Founding member of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association (HKPASEA).
